YOUR MISSION:
The security group within DLR GfR mbH is responsible for the security of the local and electronic environment of Galileo. As a Cyber Security Analyst for the Galileo project, you will be responsible within the security department for ensuring compliance with the security requirements defined by the EUSPA (European Union Agency for the Space Programme), e.g. through internal audits, log analysis, evaluation of proposed system changes, participation in technical committees and review of related documentation. In addition, as a cyber security analyst, you will support the processes related to the deployment of new versions of the Galileo systems and provide input to improve system functionality and the overall security posture. Specifically, you will perform the following tasks:
- Plan and perform routine internal audits of Galileo systems, including configuration data collection, processing, analysis and reporting
- Performing the routine collection of security-related logs, processing, analysis and reporting
- Maintenance of basic system documentation
- Developing improved workflows for processing and analyzing system configuration data and system logs
- Development, implementation and monitoring of risk mitigation measures in the context of security
- Evaluate proposed procedural and system configuration changes from a security perspective and with respect to security requirements, including participation in related technical committees
- Assess technical issues from a security perspective and with regard to security requirements, including participation in the relevant technical committees
- Support in the assessment and escalation of identified potential security incidents, violations of the system baseline and/or security requirements
- Participate in the processes related to the release of upgraded Galileo systems, including reviewing vendor documentation, providing input for the introduction of milestones, planning and conducting regression and functional testing
- Participate in system improvement working groups and provide input related to cyber security
- Develop training materials related to team activities and security in general
- Training of team and project members
YOUR QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security or equivalent
- 1-3 years of professional experience in IT or in the security industry
- Extensive experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
- Provision of a 24/7 on-call service on a rotational basis (3-4 times per calendar quarter)
- Willingness to undergo security checks in accordance with SÜG
- Confidentiality and reliability
- Initiative and curiosity
- Business fluent in English, written and spoken
- Knowledge of national legal requirements as well as international standards from information security (e.g. Geheimschutz in der Wirtschaft (BMWi), NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Programming and scripting skills (e.g. Python)
- Knowledge of the command line (e.g. Bash, Powershell)
- Experience with virtualized environments
- Experience with networks in industrial environments
- Good knowledge of German and/or Italian
