Intro

Are you passionate about enabling the success of everyone at Lumiphase? From driving a strategic HR agenda, to seamless people operations, partnering with individuals and teams, enabling the culture, and thinking proactively and strategically when it comes to setting HR priorities, you'll be the person in charge of helping everyone here to do their best work. Today, we are seeking a Senior People Partner (80-100%) to do just this.

At Lumiphase, our goal is to create the world’s fastest and most energy-efficient communication chips, and we believe our team is the key to making this dream a reality. With a foundation that’s been nearly a decade in the making at IBM Research, we founded in 2020 and we’ve been growing fast to a team of 50 people. We are ready to welcome someone who’s as excited as we are about building an exceptional team and fostering an environment where innovation thrives.

This role will start asap and is based in our Stäfa, ZH office. We are an office-first team with a lot of flexibility. Most of us come to the office 4 to 5 days per week, and we think that for this person to do their best work, spending 3 to 4 days per week in the office is relevant.

Tasks

As our strategic partner reporting to the CEO and Leadership team, on all things people-related, listed in order of priorities, you will;

  • Work with business leaders to advise, understand, and support the team to deliver on the business goals.
  • Create people strategies that are aligned with our business goal.
  • Design, update and implement HR policies and programs.
  • Identify and track key people metrics to prioritize relevant initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to oversee all employee lifecycle administration, payroll, employee records/contracts – and the more you can automatize, the better (!).
  • Support managers in the talent acquisition process (screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees).
  • Maintain strong employee engagement with bespoke performance management, people leadership, and career development programs;

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience as a People Partner (or in a HR role) – ideally partnering with the R&D department and in high-growth tech-driven environments.
  • You’re comfortable working cross-functionally as a strategic and operational partner to create an impact on the business as well as drive business goals by addressing key people topics.
  • You bring a proactive style of communication that builds trusted, personal relationships so that you can really understand what’s important to different people in different parts of the business.
  • You have a strong understanding of Swiss labor laws and regulations and can either do or guide someone on what needs to be done.
  • You speak English fluently, and maybe even German, which is a strong advantage.
  • You understand that tools help you be faster and want to improve processes to enable more efficiency for yourself and the team.

Closing

Our recruitment process consists of three stages:

  1. A 30 min. phone interview with our People & Culture team member to discuss your general career motivations, and present our company and this role.
  2. A 1-1.5 hour phone interview with 1-2 members of the hiring team to deep dive into the core skills requirements.
  3. An on-site visit to interview with and meet many members of the team that you would be working in. This often includes lunch and gives you a strong sense of the company culture and individuals.

Then, both parties take their decisions. We aim to complete all steps in one month, but also allow for modifications to ensure both sides have a full picture of the skills and culture match to take the decision in an informed way.

Tip: the cover letter is optional, but it is a great way for us to know why you are applying. Taking the time to add a paragraph to a plain document to upload is not only totally fine, but much appreciated. No need for formal or fancy formatting, as we are an informal team that appreciates authenticity.
