Internship (m/f/d) Optimization Problems defined on Networks

Your role and responsibilities
Contribute to ongoing research activities on energy networks operations optimization, helping incorporate new models for different networked systems.
Implement methods for heat networks in objectoriented python code.
We expect that you show readiness to tackle difficult problems, aboveaverage motivation to implement and test developed models and algorithms, and proactiveness to come up with new ideas on how to overcome possible challenges.
Driving an independent work task as a project team member.
Qualifications for the role
- You are currently enrolled in a master’s program in Mathematics or Physics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar knowledge.
- You have experience with one of the following: nonlinear constrained optimization, hyperbolic balance laws/PDEs, ordinary differential equations.
- You are interested in solving complex industrial optimization problems.
- You have programming experience in an objectoriented language (e.g. Python, C/C++).
- You have a good command of written and spoken English.
- You show readiness to tackle difficult problems, aboveaverage motivation to implement and test developed models and algorithms, and proactiveness to come up with new ideas on how to overcome possible challenges.
- A bonus is experience with one of differentialalgebraic equations, modeling of heat networks, writing software tests.
